About the Founder-Chef

Chef Rakesh Tiwari
— from bhandara kitchen to your event.

Trained at the Taj Group as a tandoor commis in 1998, Rakesh-ji spent two years cooking the daily 1,500-plate bhandara at a temple-trust kitchen in Banaras before founding Yatra Saathi in 2009. The discipline of feeding hungry pilgrims for free — the same dal, the same ghee, every morning — is what produces our famous tehri, kadhi-chawal, and Awadhi paneer pulao today.

Are you really 100% pure-vegetarian?

Yes. Our FSSAI license is vegetarian-only — that means our kitchen has never cooked meat, eggs, or fish, and is licensed not to. Every ingredient receipt, every supplier, every storage shelf is vegetarian-only. We can show you the FSSAI certificate (license number on every quote PDF).

Do you handle Jain / sattvik / no-onion-no-garlic events?

Yes — separately cooked. For Jain events we eliminate root vegetables (potato / onion / garlic / radish / carrot / ginger). For sattvik / Swaminarayan / Vaishnav events we cook in ghee only and avoid onion / garlic / leeks. Tell us at the quote stage and we do a tasting first.

What is the minimum guest count?

50 guests for a custom menu (full thali or buffet). Below 50, we do home delivery / hot-box service for the same menu. For Bhog Prasad we go down to 100 plates, for Bhandara as low as 200 plates.

How do you ensure hygiene and food safety?

+

FSSAI-licensed central kitchen · staff in chef-jacket + cap + gloves · cooking-time + serving-time logs per event · hot food kept ≥65 °C in chafing dishes · cold items below 5 °C · leftovers disposed within 4 hrs of last serve. Zero food-poisoning incidents in 850+ events.

Do you cater destination weddings outside Delhi-NCR / Lucknow?

Yes — we have catered in Jaipur, Udaipur, Banaras, Pushkar, Rishikesh, and as far as Goa. Travel-and-stay for the chef-team is added to the quote at actuals; usually adds ₹40k–₹1L for a 3-day destination wedding.

How far in advance should I book?

For wedding-season dates (Nov–Feb), we recommend 4–6 months. For corporate / festival events, 2–4 weeks. Same-week bookings for ≤100 guests are usually possible — call the team directly.

What is the payment schedule?

+

30% advance to lock the date (UPI / Razorpay / NEFT / cheque) · 50% one week before the event · 20% balance on event day or 7 days post-event for corporate. NEFT, RTGS, UPI, and bank cheques accepted. GST invoice included.

Can we taste the food before booking?

+

Yes — for events of 100+ guests, free tasting of 4 hero dishes at our Lucknow / Delhi-NCR kitchen. Bring family. The chef walks you through the menu and tweaks live.

Do you supply staff (waiters / servers)?

+

Yes — full deployment. 1 waiter per 25 guests for buffet, 1 per 12 for sit-down. Chef-team for live counters. Captains for ≥250-guest events. All in proper uniform — black-bandhgala for premium events, white-shirt for daytime / corporate.

What about decor / mandap / tent?

+

We are catering-only. We work hand-in-hand with decor partners and can recommend trusted ones in Delhi-NCR / Lucknow / Banaras. For full wedding-management, we partner with Ananya Weddings (also on apnisite.in/wedding).
